SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a highly experienced, self-motivated Sr. Environmental Project Manager to successfully drive our projects throughout all phases from early planning and permitting through construction in the Northeast region.
What you will accomplish
As a core member of the Environmental Planning Program, you will take the lead and collaborative role in pursuing project opportunities, managing large projects and clients, supervising and mentoring staff, and upholding our standards of excellence. You will also be responsible for:
* Managing multiple, complex, high-priority projects with multi-discipline environmental challenges. ? Leading all aspects of project implementation, including staffing, fieldwork, research, report writing, and QA/QC review. ? Partnering, supervising and/or preparing documents related to National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) - EAs, EISs, Habitat Conservation Plans (HCP), Bird and Bat Conservation Plans, and/or other deliverables subject to the Wind Energy Guidelines and/or Eagle Conservation Plan Guidance.? Leading and or otherwise participating in the permitting and review of oil & gas projects for clients in the northeast and across the country, working collaboratively with other SWCA offices. Many of these projects will be regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).? Providing expertise to other SWCA offices. Attend and/or present at local, regional and national conferences and forums. ? Supporting agency needs during the project review process. ? Successfully winning and executing contracts. Developing and managing project budgets, leading marketing and proposal efforts.? Supervising personnel in the field and office; and collaborating with SWCA's managers and directors on both technical and business development efforts throughout the company. ? Working closely with a project team to develop innovative approaches to resource assessment that meet client needs and can withstand agency and public scrutiny. Experience and qualifications for success? Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in biology, environmental science, natural resource management, archaeology, anthropology, geology or other related field required; Master's Degree preferred? A minimum of eight (8) years combined experience in project management, environmental consulting, or ecological, archaeological or geographical studies required? Candidate should have an extensive working knowledge of federal and state laws (e.g., NEPA, SEPA, NHPA, CWA, and ESA) governing natural resource management.? Demonstrated successful project experience with regulatory agencies. Experience with local, state, and federal agencies in the Northeastern U.S. is preferred.? Demonstrated experience with agencies such as, FERC , US Forest Service, US Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and state environmental agencies.? Experience with staff and project team supervision? Experience and ability to manage multiple complex projects and programs, in diverse settings and with changing requirements?
